Tanya Styblo Beder. With over 25 years of experience in the global capital markets, Ms. Beder founded and served as President of SBCC Group from 1987 to 1994, returning as Chairman in 2006. During the interim, Ms. Beder held two senior positions in the asset management industry. She was CEO of Tribeca Global Management LLC, a $3 billion dollar multi-strategy fund with offices in New York, London and Singapore and Managing Director of Caxton Associates LLC, a $10 billion asset management firm in New York. At SBCC, Ms. Beder heads the global strategy, risk management, derivatives, workout and fund launch practices, where she regularly advises industry and governmental clients about market, credit and operational risks, including those brought on by recent economic events. Ms. Beder has held positions of prominence on academic, governmental and industry boards and associations, including serving for five years as Chairman of the International Association of Financial Engineers. She has authored the Risk Standards for Institutional Investors and Institutional Investment Managers and numerous articles in the financial area. Euromoney named Ms. Beder one of the top 50 women in finance around the world. Ms. Beder holds a M.B.A. in finance from Harvard University and a B.A. in mathematics from Yale University.
Dr. Chi-fu Huang has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Platinum Grove Asset Management ("PGAM") since its formation in October 1999. Dr. Huang is the former J.C. Penney Professor of Finance, Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was a Professor from 1983 to 1994. Subsequently, Dr. Huang was Head of Fixed Income Derivative Research at Goldman Sachs and a Principal and Limited Partner of Long-Term Capital Management where he served as co-head of its Tokyo office.
David Kulsar is the Chief Risk Officer of Soros Fund Management LLC (“SFM”) and is a member of the firm’s Management Committee and Investment Committee. Prior to joining SFM, Mr. Kulsar was the Head of Firmwide Risk at JWM Partners LLC. Mr. Kulsar has worked in the hedge fund industry for over fifteen years.
Dr. Robert Litzenberger is a Professor Emeritus at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He currently is an advisor and serves on the board of directors of RGM Capital Advisers, an ultra-higher frequency trading firm. Dr. Litzenberger previously was a partner at Goldman Sachs & Co. and served as their Head of Firmwide Risk Management. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, he served as Director of Research and Chief Economist at AIG-Financial Products. Dr. Litzenberger is co-author of Foundations of Financial Economics, and has published more than 50 articles in leading academic finance journals.
Dr. Myron Scholes is co-originator of the Black-Scholes options pricing model, which is the basis of the pricing and risk-management technology that is used to value and to manage the risk of financial instruments around the world. For this work, he was awarded the Alfred Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 1997. Dr. Scholes is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Platinum Grove Asset Management, and he serves on the Board of Directors of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, the American Century mutual funds, the Dimensional Fund Advisors mutual funds, Intelligent Markets, Inc., and Salomon Swapco, Inc. Dr. Scholes previously was a Principal and a Limited Partner of Long-Term Capital Management, and a Managing Director at Salomon Brothers and a member of Salomon’s risk management committee. Prior to his private sector employment, Dr. Scholes held professorships at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and the Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Robert Shustak has over twenty-five years experience in the financial services industry in management, business development, strategic planning, finance and operations. He is the President of QFS Asset Management, a multi-billion dollar global macro investment firm. Prior to QFS, Mr. Shustak was COO of Strategic Value Partners, Sandelman Partners and Post Advisory Group and CFO and Limited Partner of Long-Term Capital Management. Prior to LTCM, Mr. Shustak was a senior member of the Financial Division of Salomon Brothers. Mr. Shustak began his career with J. Henry Schroder Bank and Trust. He graduated from Queens College with a B.A. in accounting.
Abbas (Eddy) Zuaiter is the Chief Operating Officer for Soros Fund Management, LLC (“SFM”), and a member of SFM’s Investment and Management Committees. Prior to joining SFM, Mr. Zuaiter was an Assurance and Business Advisory Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, specializing in Investment Management Practice, and Chief Financial Officer and Head of Macro at AFN Associates, Inc.
Peter Sanchez is the Chief Executive Officer of OpHedge Investment Services, LLC. Prior to commencing his current role with OpHedge, Mr. Sanchez served as Global Head of Wholesale Operations at Royal Bank of Canada Capital Markets. Prior to this most recent position at RBC, Mr. Sanchez ran Global Prime Brokerage Services for RBC Capital Markets. Mr. Sanchez’ prior employment included the position of Head of Global Operations at Greenwich NatWest/Greenwich Capital and a senior Operations management position at Salomon Brothers. Mr. Sanchez graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Economics.
Ed Martinson serves as the Chief Operating Officer of OpHedge Investment Services, LLC. Before joining OpHedge, Mr. Martinson served as Managing Director of Finance and Operations at Oak Hill Platinum Partners, LLC, where his responsibilities included management of the company's operational and financial reporting infrastructure. Previously, Mr. Martinson was a Manager at Moore Capital Management Inc., where he was responsible for all aspects of Fund Accounting. Prior to that, he was employed by KPMG Peat Marwick’s New York Financial Services practice, specializing in large multi-national broker dealers and investment companies.
